Halloween is huge in this City people go out of there way to out do each other
This is done in numerous ways
- Spook up your house/apartment this involves covering your staircases in straw/Corn sheaves / Pumpkins odd shaped vegetables / ghosts and gremlins etc. On some streets its all about keeping up with the Joneses (if there is such a phrase over here!)
- Waiting in a line (Queue for our English readers!) of people that goes round the block for 1hour to buy a fancy dress costume. BTW I highly recommend going to see Halloween Adventure store (Link) it was amazing inside
- Wearing ridiculous clothing
- Going clubbing in said clothing
- Or better still joining the Halloween parade! (Link)
Heres a the best couple of photographs I could take (All the rest where rubbish) while I was at the parade it should give you an impression of just how many people line the streets
You would believe it but it took our rable 45 minutes to reach this corner of 14th street and 7th Avenue and thats was only from Union Square only two blocks away!
To speed the process in the melay we decided to play the age old trick of calling a mate that doesnt exist (In front of you) and then barging through to meet him (Even though he doesn't exist) Jules and I found it most effective, in fact we almost made it to the front!!

And finally the point you've been waiting for yes Ed and I in fancy dress ready for a night out at a house party in the upper West side (Very Posh!!)
