Re-discovering New York

Most people I know once they have been in a place for a while start to take it for granted no matter how exciting it may be and adopt the I know its there so why go see it attitude.

Even I must acknowledge I have started to become settled here in NYC. But when I noticed myself not going out as much, working ridiculous hours and concentrating on reading books. I knew something was wrong.

So my master plan has been to: -
  1. Cut my work hours back to a 37.5hr week (From 70hrs -$lots)
  2. Become a tourist again (with a little help from my new camera -$dont ask)
  3. Take a Japanese Course (-$430)
  4. Go out with friends more (-$even more)
  5. talk to my Familiy, Friends and Girlfriend more ($on going)
  6. And of course start my blog up again. ($Free!!!)

I have been quite sucessful in achieving all of the above but have noticed a common trend.....

.....They all cost money and where not talking small change!

over the past few weekends I have been taking my camera for a test drive its a bit more complicated than my original camera and takes some getting use to heres me being a tourist again accept this time with more Gusto!. Im using a 18-55mm lense looking to buy a macro and telephoto but when finance allows.

Let me know what you think!

Jeff Soto

I just went to a Art opening event for an Artist I have recently discovered whilst in NY he mixes Transformers, visions of the future, war, graffiti and organinic forms with bold colours to create some of the most impressive Art I have seen since Dali or M.C.Esher.

I fell in love with the havester piece above yours at a snip for $2500 I was tempted but it had already gone when i had decided to splash the cash! (Lucky really as I wouldn't be able to afford my new lap top)

Heres another which just blew me away

I also got the chance to meet him and get his book signed he even sketched a mini harvester in the front cover it was so cool I now have an original Jeff Soto work of my own cool heh?

Until next time.....................

Whats going on a blog with my reputation!

NO NOT WORK AGAIN!!!

Welcome back everyone its been a while and you will all be glad to hear my deadline is over!

hears a sneek peek at the drawings I made Im very proud

However enough of that...

I thought it would be nice to show you guys back home that Im not just doing lots of work! I have been doing other things that are much more interesting.....

My Surgery

As most of you know I had a lump of unwanted flesh on my foot so I had to go and get it chopped out heres the photos to prove it

hope it isnt too graphic for all the wimps!

I made sure the collage didn't reveal the full evil of the growth

for the past month I have been wearing this stupid open toe medical sandal and told not to get the bandage wet! which you can imagine is difficult given the current weather conditions. You may also notice from the pictures that I had to put a bag of frozen vegatables on my foot to reduce swelling (not very practical) Oh and another thing... I had to hobble around with a walking stick!

On the whole the experience has not been one of great pleasure on the subway I was a nevous wreak hoping that nowbody would tread on me or get angry with my slow pace.

but it just shows you how much you take walking for granted!

I feel much better now and thank you all for your concern it has been greatly appriciated

However I am still waiting on my get well soon Terry's Chocolate orange that I didn't get for christmas.

The Snow blowers are back in town and my word is it cold!

Yes I have been waiting for so long to have the snow back and finally it arrives and flipping heck it was a big one in less than 3hours we got over 3feet of snow it was chaos!

Mr snow blower doesnt look like he wanted to be famous!

The local bicycle isn't going anywhere!

But sorry no sign of Frank as yet the snow was too powdery to make him return to Central Park better luck next time Frank + Hugh wasn't around to make him feel welcome.

Until next time cherio me ole cock sparra's you gotta pick a pocket or two lad etc. etc..
